DuBois Public Library News Column:
A new set of Young Adult books at the DuBois Public Library is Understanding World History. There are six books in the series which include: The Late Middle Ages by Adam Woog; The Holocaust by Charles George; The Decade of the 2000s by David Robson; The Early Middle Ages by Adam Woog; Ancient Egypt by Stuart A. Kallen; and Ancient Rome by Hal Marcovitz.
Some of the ideas explored in these books are: what sets ancient Egypt apart from other ancient civilizations; what are the characteristics of the era known as the Middle Ages; and what is the legacy of the twentieth-century genocide known as the Holocaust? This series discusses the political, social, and cultural trends of major periods and events in world history. Included in each book are source notes, a bibliography for further research and an index.
