Poem by Kaitlyn, 15
A puppy was chewing a phone
For it was,he thought,a bone.
It beeped and it rang,
At each touch of a fang,
And he thought it a lovely one.
Finally his teeth cut the cord,
(By then he was thoroughly bored.)
But at the cease of the beep,
His heart gave a leap.
He had killed a monster, abhorred!
The puppy was oh, so proud,
At the death of what he had chowed.
He showed to his master,
And thence came disaster,
His yelps were most frightfully loud.
For it was,he thought,a bone.
It beeped and it rang,
At each touch of a fang,
And he thought it a lovely one.
Finally his teeth cut the cord,
(By then he was thoroughly bored.)
But at the cease of the beep,
His heart gave a leap.
He had killed a monster, abhorred!
The puppy was oh, so proud,
At the death of what he had chowed.
He showed to his master,
And thence came disaster,
His yelps were most frightfully loud.
