If you have decided to do some canning or freezing of your fruits and vegetables this year, the DuBois Public Library has several books to help you get started. These books will show you how to get your food prepared, what equipment you will need, tips on techniques for making the job easier, plus there are many recipes.
Some of the books available are: The Complete Book of Small-Batch Preserving by Ellie Topp; The Big Book of Preserving the Harvest by Carol Costenbader; Pickles & Relishes: 150 Recipes by Andrea Chesman; The Beginner’s Guide to Preserving Food at Home by Janet Chadwick; and Preserving Today by Jeanne Lesem.
Fall Story Hours:
The first session of the Fall Story Hours began on Thursday, September 8th and will continue for 6 weeks. There are 3 age groups: two-year olds meet from 10:00-10:30; My Three and Me 11:00 to 11:45; and the four-and-five year olds 2:00 to 3:00.
Story Hours are free and include stories, songs, finger plays, music, plus much more. For further
