In this book Ms. Ingraham, who is a well-known talk show host, uses satire for her commentary on our society. She says we have become our own worst enemy. For example, she laments the fact that Christmas starts earlier every year, airplane seats shrink just as Americans are expanding, Facebook has become a verb, and reading has become an ancient art form. This book is a commentary too funny to ignore. “No Higher Honor: A Memoir of My Years in Washington” by Condoleeza Rice is another new addition to the library. This book tells of her compelling story of eight years serving at the highest levels of government. Condoleeza Rice is a native of Birmingham, AL, who overcame the racism of the civil rights era to become a brilliant academic and expert on foreign affairs. This is her story of secret negotiating rooms, many trips that took her around the globe seeking common ground with bitter enemies, and revealing behind-the-scenes maneuvers that kept the world’s relationships from collapsing.
